August's Top 5 Crowdfunded Games

August's Top 5 Crowdfunded Games

Every month we do our best to shortlist the abundance of crowdfunding games currently on offer. Here are what we consider to be the best games available to back this month, all of which we will check back in on in six months time. Links are in the titles.

pokiPooki!! - Kickstarter

This 80's neon style platformer will draw obvious comparisons to Super Meat Boy, but the thematic music and tight controls will have players enjoying their time with this game. Check out the campaign at the link above where you can download the demo and see for yourself.

Close Your - Kickstarter

Using a webcam to play a game sounds like a strange idea at first. Watch this trailer for Close Your and it will definitely change your mind with what is a brilliant way of incorporating the technology. Blink and you'll miss the opportunity to back this game.

Diabotical - Kickstarter

With a dev team that has a background in Quake, this Arena FPS goes back to the good old days of the genre. This trailer does a good job to set up the tone of the game and it's one I can't wait to check out.

Sausage Sports Club - Kickstarter

Couch co-op games are everywhere now and this one still stands out among the pack. The numerous game modes shown in the trailer makes the game look like part Splatoon, part Gang Beasts, and a whole lot of fun.

Ruin of the Reckless - Kickstarter

This 2D rogue-like game features fast paced action and some impressive animations. Inspired by some of the original Zelda games and others in that era, you'll find yourself fighting your way to the top of a mysterious tower.
